Local health care NGO expands into Sindh

Published on: November 17, 2019 4:21 AM

Transparent Hands expands outside of Punjab for the first time by holding its signature medical camps in Interior Sindh. The Lahore based NGO treated almost 2500 patients free of charge over a course of four days. Thus far the organization has conducted 52 medical camps and treated over 16,500patients of which 680 underwent surgeries.

The mammoth accomplishment has not gone unnoticed. The co-founder and CEO of the organization Rameeza Mueen was awarded The Tamgha-e-Imtiaz for her efforts in improving the health care in Pakistan.

Transparent Hands is the largest technology platform for crowdfunding in the healthcare sector of Pakistan. They offer a complete range of free healthcare services including medical and surgical treatments, medical camps and tele-health facility to the underprivileged community of Pakistan. Their goal is to reach as many patients as possible, millions of which are suffering due the lack of healthcare facilities.

Pakistan currently has one of the largest populations in the world majority of who are too poor afford adequate health care from the private sector. The HIV outbreak Rotadero, Sindh that has shocked the nation is one example of just how bleak the situation is. Public sector health services are either non-existent in areas like the small town of Qazi Ahmad, where Transparent Hands treated 1100 patients in a single day, or substandard or stretched to its limits like in major cities.

The reality is for much of Pakistan’s population in need of medical attention NGO’s like Transparent Hands are often their only hope. It is therefore imperative that people and patrons continue to donate so they can continue their vital work.

Transparent Hands take great pride in their crowd funding platform. It is efficient, secure and uncomplicated. Donors can go to their website atwww.transparenthands.org and chose from a multitude of causes to donate to. The organization has a special team dedicated to verifying each cause to ensure proper eligibility. Donors can contribute to a particular cause or a “General Donation.”

Mr Raheel Abbass, Director of Operation, spoke with daily times. “Our website is very easy to navigate. The donation process is not only simple but also extremely safe. We accept all major modes of online payment including Stripe and PayPal. After a donation has been made to a particular cause, our patrons are kept informed on the patient’s progress. They can view the prescriptions, bills, and records and even visit the patient if they chose. We believe and operate in complete transparency, thus the name Transparent Hands.”
