PESHAWAR: Around 0.1 million people from Khbyer Pakhtukhwa (KP) are expected to join the Pakistan Tehreek-e- Insaf (PTI) “Dharna” (sit-in) planned to be held on November 2, 2016 at Islamabad against the federal government over the Panama corruption scam. The president of Peshawar district and Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA), Arbab Jehandad Khan, on Wednesday told Daily Times that the task had been given to PTI MPAs, districts, tehsils and union council representatives to accumulate and stimulate the youth of the party for the sit-in. He also termed the sit-in to be decisive and described it as a historic step to replace the corrupt system in the country with a new and genuine government. Jehandad said the president of all the four regions of the province had been clearly directed by the party chief, Imran Khan, to make possible the attendance of a larger number of youth than before and asked the representatives of the councils to play their due role in this regard more vehemently. Meanwhile, the Provincial Information Secretary of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), Nasir Mosazai, accused the PTI MPAs, ministers and its local body representatives for using the government machinery mercilessly for making the sit-in successful. Nasir Mosazai, told the scribe that across the province generally and at the district Peshawar particularly, the government vehicles were being used by the ministers by holding corner meetings for the purpose to dislodge the democracy at the country. He alleged that senior ministers of the PTI and its MPAs used the government’s offices and its phones for inquiring about the sit-in preparations which must be stopped as it was “an act of corruption”. All of the provincial government machinery stuck since Imran Khan announced the date for the sit-in and all the subordinate staff of the ministers working for the Islamabad sit-in.
