THARPARKAR: Sindh’s senior minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Food Nisar Ahmed Khohro has inaugurated the free distribution of wheat among 287,964 Thari families in Mithi town on Saturday. Khohro said that this time Sindh government was giving 100 kg wheat to each family to support them till the desert area receives rains. “PPP government was spending billions of rupees to uplift the desert area adding, he claimed, with the dedicated efforts, the situations in Thar had improved to a great level. Mr Khuhro announced that wheat distribution would soon start in Achhro Thar area of Sanghar district. He said that projects being launched by Sindh government and Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company (SECMC) would usher in a new era of the exceptional growth and success in the region. “Thar coal reserves which will soon start to generate power to bring uprising not only in Thar but in the whole country and the credit of such a mega scheme goes to PPP, he added. Mr Khuhro, who is also president of PPP, Sindh province, said that their slain leader Benazir Bhutto was the first, who had started the work to extract coal from Thar. He said that the Thari youth would be given priority in jobs in the various protects of Thar Coal fields and the people will get skilled education so that they easily get the employment at their area. Mr Khuhro, later speaking at a public gathering lashed out at the prime minister for his fake promises with the people of Thar and other districts of the Sindh and said that the days of his regime were numbered, adding he asked him to step down before he was forced to go home unceremoniously. The PPP minister claimed the federal government through its governor was directly interfering in the affairs of Sindh’s issues. Holding the federal government responsible for water and power crises in the province he observed that Sindh was being treated like a step-child. Khuhro said that PPP under the dynamic leadership of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Asif Ali Zardari would emerge successful in the upcoming general elections. Dr. Mahesh Kumar Malani, PPP MPA, said on that occasion that the Sindh government is the people’s government and believes in serving the people. Dr. Khatu Mal Jeewan, Dr. Ghulam Haider Samejo, Comrade Nandlal Malhi, Susheel Malani and other PPP leaders spoke at the gathering.
