KARACHI: An antiterrorism court indicted two suspects in a case related to the murder of a senior lawyer. The ATC- Judge Bashir Ahmed Khoso read out the charges against the accused persons, including Syed Azmat Hussain and Muhammad Hameed alias Pappu, said to be associated with a political party. However, they pleaded not guilty and opted to contest the case. It summoned the prosecution witnesses to record the statements on the next hearing on November 12. Both the accused along with other accomplices had been charged with the murder of Mansoob Ali Qaureshi in September 2001 in Arambagh area. Abdul Wahab, Shahzad and Nasir had been declared as absconders in the case. Meanwhile, the same court sentenced three men to 14 years in prison in a case pertaining to possession of explosive material. The court found Syed Baqar Shah, Syed Junaid and Syed Mahrab guilty of possessing around five kilograms of explosive material in September last year in a Soharb Goth locality. Police had lodged a case against them under Section 4/5 of Explosive Substances Act read with Section 7 of Anti-terrorism Act, 1997.
