One more HIV positive child died in Ratodero on Tuesday. She was identified as one-and-a-half-year-old Ajwa, daughter of Abdul Hafeez Soomro. According to the residents, the number of HIV positive cases who have so far lost their precious lives due to sheer negligence of Sindh AIDS Control Program (SACP) has risen to 29. The father of the deceased baby Abdul Hafeez told newsmen that since last three months he has constantly been running between Taluka Headquarter Hospital of Ratodero and Chandka Children Hospital of Larkana but failed to get any treatment due to which his innocent daughter expired on Tuesday. He said so many HIV positive children are fighting for their precious lives due to non-provision of required treatment medicines. He said neither Federal nor Sindh government have as yet taken any steps to save lives of affected hundreds of children who are dying because of the incompetence of SACP, National AIDS Control Program and Sindh Health Department. He said despite establishment of treatment centre in Ratodero no drugs are provided as yet which shows that rulers just want photo session and have failed practically to save children. He appealed to Chief Justices of Pakistan & Sindh to take suo motu notice of the issue and provide relief to the poor parents of the HIV positive children as they have been tired of running from pillar to post between Larkana & Ratodero but have failed to convince the Sindh Government to come to their aid.
