ISLAMABAD: It has been revealed that a civil servant of Lok Virsa has been elected in the local bodies elections despite the ban on government officials taking part in politics during service.
But after winning the LG polls, she is getting her full pay and allowances and other perks against her service.
The Executive Director of Lok Virsa has not only congratulated her blue-eyed subordinate, Nagina Sadaf, by giving a hi-tea in her honour from the national exchequer on winning the local bodies elections but has also changed the office atmosphere into a stage show. A grand musical show was arranged on the occasion in which almost all the staff members danced to high volume music.
The sources said that Nagina Sadaf also uploaded the videos of the programme on the social media, on which some of the women staff members, present in the celebration, have objected strongly and have asked her delete the material of their dancing.
But she did not take care of their protest as all the matter is present on her Facebook page.
The sources said that Nagina Sadaf is a homeopathy doctor, but she is the friend of theExecutive Director, who appointed her at Lok Virsa on a heavy salary package and hefty benefits.
When Daily Times contacted renowned lawyer Hashmat Habib, he said that no government servant of any public sector functionary can neither take part in politics nor contest any elections, except the elections of the union of the office. If someone does take part in the polls, he/she would stand disqualified from the polls and action could be taken against him/her.
He said that if the head of the department knows that any staff member of the organisation is taking part in the politics, it is his responsibility to demand resignation as according to law the government
organization cannot pay a salary to any person in politics or any elected person. When this reporter tried to contact the State Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Marriyam Aurangzeb, to know her stance on the matter, she
replied through SMS that she was busy and could not talk.
