QUETTA: On Monday, a Chinese investment group sent a nine member-delegation to the port city of Gwadar. The committee were briefed by the Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) administration on development schemes underway in collaboration with China-Pak Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects. The Chinese delegation led by Senate Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat Chairman, Senator Talha Mehmood, visited the GDA office, whereby GDA Director Administration, Maj. Saleem Mehmood Baloch, guided them on underway projects in collaboration with CPEC. He assured the team that the pace of construction work on projects pertaining to CPEC had been accelerated. The delegation also visited Gwadar Development Public High School and Gwadar Development Hospital where Lt-Col. Siddique briefed them on joint adventures of Pak Army and Ministries of Health and Education being taken in education and health sectors. Speaking on the occasion, Senator Mehmood said that CPEC would strengthen its historical friendship of Pakistan and China and hoped for future prospects of boosting economic growth and development in the Balochistan region.
