Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) parliamentary leader in Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh Sunday said the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) government in Sindh will end soon and all corrupt politicians will go to jail. “Maryam Nawaz played the video of a person who is accused in 14 cases. The sad face of Shehbaz Sharif during the press conference clearly showed who actually leads the PML-N,” Sheikh told a press conference at the Insaf House, flanked by MPAs Khuram Sher Zaman and Adil Ansari. He said Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is now delivering speeches in Dera Ismail Khan and posing himself as a supporter of Pashtuns. “Where was Bilawal when Rao Anwar killed Pashtuns in Karachi? When FATA was included in the national mainstream, it was Sindh government which refused to give its share of the development funds,” he added. The PTI leader advised Bilawal to visit Larkana and Ratodero where widespread AIDS is killing innocent children. “Bilawal should ask from the provincial government of his party why these children are not getting proper medical facilities,” he said, adding that in Ratodero, so far 903 children have been diagnosed with AIDS but still no treatment centre for them has been set up in the area. Adil said Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has started new political gimmicks. “He is inviting political leaders and talking about the problems of the masses. Why it took 11 long years to realise about the problems of Karachi,” he asked, adding that whole Sindh is suffering from severe water shortage these days. “After 11 years, Saeed Ghani has now remembered the children of Thar. The biggest water filter plant of Asia has failed to deliver in Thar due to corrupt practices of the PPP rulers,” he said. “Saeed Ghani and his team are not ready to drink the contaminated water of this plant. During last one year, more than 570 children have died in Thar due to lack of medical facilities,” he added. The PTI leader said Sindh government’s information advisor has become an ‘advisor for disinformation’. “Three months ago, Azra Pechuho called on the president of Pakistan and requested that the three major government hospitals of Karachi be given to Sindh government. The president granted her request, but now the PPP is misleading the masses that it has snatched those hospitals from the federal government,” he said, and reminded that these hospitals were handed over to the Centre on the orders of the Supreme Court. He said due to corruption of Sindh rulers, the NICVD is under burden of Rs 10 billion loans. The NICH is also in a bad shape, he said, adding that in Civil Hospital Karachi, many diagnostic machines are not functional. Haleem Adil asked why 111 health centers of Sindh have been handed over to an NGO – Integrated Health Services. He said in Sindh, corruption of Rs 957 billion was committed in last 10 years, adding that Rs 397 billion funds could not be used and hence lapsed. “Bilawal says the budget of PTI is actually the budget of IMF. The first loan from IMF was taken by Zulfikar Bhutto in 1965, while the second IMF loan was also taken during the PPP government,” the PTI leader said. “Sindh rulers did a record corruption in irrigation, food and other departments. Corruption of Rs 100 billion was made only in purchase of wheat,” he said. “Ethiopia is giving medicines for treating AIDS in Sindh. Education sector in Sindh province is totally in a shambles. When traders and citizens will pay their due taxes, we will have no need to go to IMF,” he added. MPA Khuram Sher Zaman said Karachi is facing severe water shortage and now Sindh government is seeking help from a former mayor to resolve water issues of the mega city. He said despite spending billions of rupees, the people of Karachi are being supplied toxic drinking water. He said on July 11, Prime Minister Imran Khan is scheduled to visit Karachi. “I will request him to ask NAB to take action on all corruption cases and references,” he added.
