As HIV continues to tightly grapple Ratodero and surrounding areas, more HIV-positive cases are being reported, according to health department sources. As per sources, five new HIV-positive cases were detected, on Tuesday, here at the screening camp established at Ratodero Taluka Headquarter Hospital (THQ). One HIV-positive patient was identified at the Rural Health Center (RHC), Naundero. Meanwhile, no case was reported in Banguldero, Lashari, Pir Bux Bhutto and Garhi Yasin where as many as 15 people were tested for the viral disease. The deadly outbreak has already caused panic in the area after an uproar ensued over unprecedented HIV/AIDS infections among children. At Naundero, three people were screened, and one was found to be HIV-positive. According to the figures released by the Sindh AIDS Control Program (SACP), 30,686 people have been tested so far out of the general population. Therein, a total of 894 have emerged as HIV-positive, including 735 children and 159 adults.
