An accountability court, here on Tuesday, approved the request filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to interrogate former prime minister Nawaz Sharif. Hearing a case related to illegal use of bullet-proof vehicles, the judge allowed further investigation against the incarcerated ex-premier. Investigation officer would now record Sharif’s statement in Kot Lakhpat jail. It may be pertinent to mention here that the bureau has already recorded statements of former premier Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Intelligence Bureau (IB) Director General Fawad Hassan Fawad and officers of Foreign Ministry. Meanwhile, a report was also submitted by the Establishment Division to the NAB Rawalpindi. As many as two vehicles have already been recovered from the Sharif family, which had been brought for the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Conference. While the conference was cancelled, the vehicles were allegedly captured by the Sharif family.
