LAHORE: City police will provide foolproof security arrangements on Christmas at all churches in the provincial metropolis. These views were expressed by Capital City Police officer (CCPO) Captain (r) Amin Wains during a meeting with different religious leader held at Police Lines Qilla Gujjar Singh on Thursday. DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf and other senior officers were also present. The CCPO said that strict security measures would be ensured, and for the purpose, police personnel’s had been deputed in A, B, C categories at various churches across the city. He said churches in category A were being considered as highly sensitive, and a good number of security personnel had been deployed there, besides installation of walkthrough gates. B category includes relatively less sensitive churches and a lesser number of security personnel had been deployed there, while a small number of security men had been deployed at churches included in category C. He said police mobiles had been stationed outside churches to avoid any untoward situation, and no one was allowed to enter the church without proper checking. He said that the government had made comprehensive security arrangements and special deployment of police was being ensured at churches and public places. The meeting reviewed in detail security arrangements, and it was decided that the Quick Response Force (QRF), PRU, Dolphin Force and others would be deployed around the churches. The CCPO said that police and volunteers would perform security duties outside at all churches and other places to avoid any untoward incident.
