Singer and actor Ali Zafar on Tuesday claimed that fake social media accounts, which were involved in a defamatory campaign against him, are “now shutting down after our application to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).”
The artist tweeted, “As I said, the smear campaign against me was running through fake accounts,” which are now shutting down after the actor lodged complaint with the FIA under the cyber crime law.
“Our resolve to set a precedent that no one can do this ever to an innocent person is stronger than ever now,” Ali Zafar added along with screenshots of social media pages, created to support Meesha Shafi.
A day earlier, Meesha Shafi had appeared on a private television channel answering questions that Zafar had been raising on the social media and in the courts. She said it is possible for her to forgive but first, she needs to understand what exactly is being apologised for.
