The Pakistan Army on Tuesday announced a number of appointments and transfers in its ranks.According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed has been appointed adjutant general of the Pakistan Army at the General Headquarters (GHQ). Lieutenant General Azhar Abbas has been named director general joint staff, while Lieutenant General Nauman Mahmood has been appointed inspector general of communications and information technology.Lieutenant General Sahir Shamshad Mirza will continue as vice chief of general staff, while Lieutenant General Adnan has been appointed as the Bahawalpur Corps commander. On April 12, the ISPR had announced that Major General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Major General Nauman Mahmood, Major General Azhar Abbas and Major General Faiz Hameed had been promoted to the rank of lieutenant general. Earlier this month, 40 brigadiers of the Pakistan Army were promoted to the rank of major general. Those promoted included 11 brigadiers from the Pakistan Army Medical Corps.
