KARACHI: All roads heading to Sea View were blocked by Karachi police on Saturday after imposition of Section 144.
To avoiding drowning incidents on the beach, the public was not allowed picnicking at the beaches on New Year’s Eve, stated a notification issued from Commissioner Karachi`s office.
Every year, on December 31, on the eve of New Year, thousands of youths throng on the roads and many of them reach at Sea View beaches, where they dance, and one wheeling on motorbikes and also some time aerial firing is witnessed and many people injured during different incidents.
The police has blocked the roads and issued alternate routes. According to a statement issued by traffic police, “roads from Akhtar Colony to sea view are barricaded; the traffic from the site would be directed to Shahra-e-Faisal. The roads from KPT fly-over to the American consulate and from Boat Basin to Bilawal Chowrangi were closed for traffic yesterday.”
