The semi-finals of the Chief of the Air Staff International Squash Tournament for Men and Pakistan International Squash Tournament for Women were played at Mushaf Squash Complex here Thursday. Both Egyptian players Mostafa Asal and Youssef Soliman reached the final of the men’s tournament. In the first semi-final, Asal (Egypt) beat Greg Lobban (Scotland) by 11-5, 5-11, 11-3 and 11-8 (3-1). The match lasted for 46 minutes. In the second semi-final, Soliman (Egypt) defeated Karim Al Fathi (Egypt) by 11-5, 13-11, 6-11, 11-6 (3-1) in 66 minutes. In the women’s tournament, Farida Mohamed (Egypt) and Cindy Merlo (Switzerland) made it to the final after beating their respective opponents. In the first semi-final, Farida downed Sana Ibrahim (Egypt) by 10-12, 11-3, 11-9, 17-19 and 11-9 (3-2). The match lasted for 53 minutes. The second semi-final was won by Cindy who defeated Jihyun Lee (South Korea) by 11-4, 11-8, 8-11, 9-11 and 12-10 (3-2) in 36 minutes.
