“Pakistan Peoples Party Chairperson, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, is the real leader of Pakistan, who started the train journey heading to Larkana from Karachi, to develop strong contacts with people of Sindh,” Sindh Minister for Energy, Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh, on Tuesday. He was heading a meeting convened at Bhayo house, in the late hours, to review the arrangements for Bilawal’s welcome upon his arrival at the Habibkot Railway Station on March 27. Sheikh termed the train journey a public contact campaign for PPP chairperson, and believed that it would bear fruit for the people of Sindh. “Mr Bilawal has put his clear stance over issues of Sindh because (he) is a public leader,” he added. The minister proudly stated, “(He is) never afraid of any power and always took the side of real issues.” He further added that many false and fabricated cases had been lodged against PPP co-chairman, Asif Ali Zardari, who had earlier put up with a prison sentence of 11 years and many woes. “This time, PPP leadership was once again being targeted,” Shaikh lamented, while terming the cases one-sided revenge against the party leaders. He was of the view that the federal government was acting against anyone who dared put up a rigorous stance or issued statement against the powers. This was sheer injustice, he cried. The minister alleged that such conspiracies had also been hatched during election campaign yet people of Sindh had failed all conspiracies. PPP Shikarpur General-secretary, Meer Zulfikar Ali Kamario believed that all PPP workers of the city were united and fully capable of foiling all kind of conspiracies against their leadership. He regretted the arrest of Sindh Speaker Agha Siraj Khan Durrani and party leader, Meer Babal Khan Bhayo. PPP’s member of the National Assembly (MNA) from Shikarpur, Meer Abid Khan Bhayo, added that Durrani and former member of the provincial assembly (MPA), Meer Bhayo, had been implicated in fabricated cases. He adding that the PPP chairperson wished to meet party workers across Sindh through this train journey. In this regard, Shaikh, along with Shikarpur Deputy Commissioner, Rahim Bux Maitlo and Shikarpur Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Sajjad Ameer Sadozi, visited the main bus stop at Shikarpur to review the anti-encroachment operation. They assured the affectees that they would be accommodated once the final report of Mukhtiarkar and other concerned quarters was submitted. However, no one would be allowed to occupy government property, Sheikh added.
