ISLAMABAD: After a delay of over four months, NA Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Thursday formed a 20-member parliamentary committee to amend the National Accountability Ordinance including plea bargain clause. All parliamentary parties present in parliament have been given representation in the committee with the exception of Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad. According to an NA spokesman, this parliamentary committee has been formed in light of the motion adopted in the National Assembly on August 17, 2016. After this motion, National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq consulted Senate Chairman Mian Raza Rabbani and leaders of the parliamentary parties and sought names from them. After receiving names from parliamentary leaders, the National Assembly secretariat issued notifications of the committee on Thursday. In the 20-member committee, the ruling PML N has the majority with 9 members. 11 members have been included from other parties. 13 members would be from the National Assembly, while seven members are taken from Senate in the committee. The parliamentary committee on the national accountability law will consist of Zahid Hamid, Abdul Qadir Baloch, Anusha Rehman Khan, Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, Mehmood Bashir Virk,Mohsin Shah Nawaz Ranjha, Syed Naveed Qamar, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, S.A Iqbal Qadri, Naeema Kishwar, Shaibzada Tariq ullah, Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao, Senator Farhatullah Babar, Senator Muzafar Hussain Shah, Senator Saud Majeed, Javed Abbasi, Azam Khan Swati , Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif and Senator Daud Khan Achkzai.
