The Lahore Zoo is being digitally renovated to improve the experience of families and become a learning platform for children. The project is being led by Dr Suleman Shahid, an assistant professor at Lahore University of Management Sciences’ (LUMS) computer science department. He is collaborating with a multinational company. The Lahore Zoo Mobile App is being launched to provide information about animals, specifically about what they eat and where they are brought from. According to the LUMS website, it is being developed by the Computer Human Interaction and Social Experience Lab at LUMS. The app will include interactive games to educate children about animals and allow them to relate to information in their textbooks. “The purpose of the app is to facilitate visitors so that they can learn something from their experience, along with being entertained,” says Dr Suleman Shahid. The zoo is spread over 25 acres. Published in Daily Times, March 15th 2019.
