Court orders to exhume woman’s body

Published on: July 4, 2017 10:00 PM

UMERKOT: Additional District and Session Judge Umerkot has ordered to form a special medical board and exhume the body of Siyani Oad for postmortem here on Tuesday.

Siyani Oad a married woman was found hanged 16 days ago at her in-laws home near Momal Ji Mari of Umerkot.

Later Shiv Ram Oad, father of the deceased Siyani Oad registered an FIR accusing her father-in-law and brother-in-law of torturing her to death and tried to term it a suicide therefore she was hanged.

Hearing the application of Siyani’s father, through counsel, Additional Session Judge Naveed Hussain Kolachi ordered to exhume the body of Siyani Oad for re-post mortem through special medical board to know the actual causes of her death.

Court also observed that main contention of learned counsel was that submitted post-mortem report was not clear and was creating ambiguities on medical grounds raised by the father of deceased, therefore, re-post mortem is required to surface the facts. It is also ordered to Umerkot City police station to deploy the constables on deceased grave till the exhumation is taken place.

It’s pertinent to mention here that ten days earlieranother sister of Siyani Oad reached press club Umerkot, with marks of torture. She complained that she was married in the same family where her sister Siyani was. She accused her father-in-law and her husband of killing Siyani and later hanged her to show it as a suicide case. On this she raised hue and cry, resultantly she was subjected to ruthless torture and was ousted from her inlaws house.
