Sir: One can see several zebra crossings that have been marked on various roads in the Federal Capital, but it is a painful reality that vehicles never stop even at zebra crossings thus not allowing pedestrians to cross the road. One must visit a famous commercial market in Islamabad, called “Karachi Company” to know this painful reality that how people coming from all corners of the city drive so recklessly and violate the traffic laws. It has been noticed that the Islamabad Motorway Police is playing its due role effectively but those who drive cars and other vehicles they damn care about traffic rules and road safety principles. The Islamabad Motorway Police imposes fines on those who violate the traffic rules, but even then the situation is getting worse. All citizens are required to play their due role so that our roads should not become death traps. HASHIM ABRO Islamabad
