9 houses in Ministers’ Colony turn into ‘haunted bungalows’

ISLAMABAD: As many as nine houses built in Ministers’ colony have turned into ‘haunted bungalows’ being vacant since long.

The staffers of Pak PWD and ministers have even taken away valuables from these bungalows. Pak PWD is pursuing a temporary policy for the ministers’ colony as 37 bungalows have been built for ministers and nine among them have turned into haunted homes because the government has not allotted them to any minister.

The house no 6,7,12, 14 are lying vacant and the staffers and domestic servants have taken away the furniture and other valuables from these residences. One residence has been allotted to Maulana Fazlur Rehman at present while one flat has been allotted in parliament lodges to him. Likewise, one residence has been allotted to Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry in Ministers’Colony and one apartment has also been allotted to him where he has set up his office.

House No 3 has been allotted to Mushahid Ullah Khan and HouseNo 5 has been allotted to former speaker National Assembly Fahmida Mirza in reverence to charter of democracy. Former information minister Pervez Rashid is resident of House No 1. Federal Minister Akram Durrani has been shifted to HouseNo 31 because HouseNo 32 was burnt due to short circuiting. He was immediately shifted to HouseNo 31.

HouseNo 32 is being prepared for statement minister for information Maryam Aurangzeb. Prime Minister has approved Rs 4.7 million for its decoration. Mufti Amir Zeb close friend of Maulana Fazlur Rehman occupied the store of ministers colony and declared it his residence. Electricity has been supplied to this residence from HouseNo 12.

Mufti Amir Zeb is prayer leader of one time prayers in the mosque of ministers’ colony. He is seen rare in the mosque after Maghrib prayers. Pak PWD DG is discharging his duties since the last five years after obtaining extension in his service period. DG Ali Akbar Sheikh does not allow spending even a single rupee on the residences of employees of federal government in federal capital and deductions are made from the salary of the government employees in the name of repair. But Akbar Sheikh has devoted himself for upkeep and repair work of the bungalows in Ministers’ colony.
