We have witnessed that Imran Khan blatantly betrayed his followers trust by altering his principle stance on matters of utmost importance. These compromised principles basically defined his political vision and ideology. And they included claims of transparent governance, meritocracy, equal rule of law, self-accountability and so on and so forth. Conversely, now when he assumed the saddle we are seeing blatant nepotism, different scale of accountability for the powerful and weak section of the society and incompetent cabinet members devoid of any solution to tackle issues of national concern. However, despite of this conspicuous deception his followers (Ptians) are even averse to the idea of constructive criticism let alone taking him to task for this obvious double-crossing. It seems that their claims of preferring country over individuals were fake and specifically aimed at few families. For now they are reluctant to castigate their leader for the glaring compromises which he does on daily basis. What all this shows? Subordination. Nothing less and nothing more. As a true follower would cross check his leaders acts time to time that whether they are consistent with his claims or not. In former case he would feel proud but in latter case he would suggest him to correct his acts. And if a follower reduces himself to silence while seeing his leader making colossal mistakes then it becomes subordination. Further, one needs to realize that governance is not a child’s play. And politicians are almost made up of the same cloth. They compromise for their vested interest. Same applies to IK. He is an enormously fallible person and no different than his counterparts. But the subordinates instead of making IK realize his follies are trying to cover it by bringing forward illogical arguments. They aren’t ready to accept that their leader is deficient of pedigree to stand by his words. At the same time they aren’t ready to concede that their leader lacks the basic competence to discern the complexities attach to governance. With this approach how Ptians can stand out from the followers of other political parties? Truly the new wave of subordination is worth paying heed to. Its proponents should realize that state’s constitution, consistency of democracy and people’s welfare come ahead of any individual. Always weigh a leader’s acts as per the above given formula which includes constitution, democracy and people’s welfare. It will definitely give them a sense of mental satisfaction. All in all, true following welcomes criticism if a leader distracts from the right path. It encourages dissent for greater good of the society and state. While subordination defies logic and wit. Instead, it believes in drumming lies into the ears of innocent people by covering the facts. And the fact is that IK double-dealt his followers by selling them utopian dreams of a prosper society.
