China, Sindh govt to collaborate for socio-economic uplift of people

Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah said that the Chinese government was collaborating with the Sindh government in order to improve the socio-economic conditions of the people.

Addressing the journalists at 57th Parent’s Day of Petaro Cadet College on Saturday, CM Murad further said that the Sindh government was particularly determined to work for improvements in the education and health sectors.

He said that attention was being paid to social development of Sindh and the provincial government was being supported by the Chinese government in this regard. Speaking about the recent gas crisis, CM Murad said that the provincial government had registered its reservations on the closure of CNG stations all over the province. He said that the Sindh government had communicated its stance to the federal petroleum minister when visited. CM Murad informed the journalists that the minister had promised that the Constitution would not be violated and the issue would be resolved. CM Shah expressed the hope that federal Petroleum minister would resolve this issue. CM Shah reiterated that Sindh was contributing to 70 percent of the country’s gas supply and said that the Constitution granted the province rights to its resources for the well-being of its citizens.

Answering a question about arrests of political people in the metropolis, CM Shah said that all legal formalities should be completed before arresting political workers in the city so claims of political victimisation could be thwarted.

Speaking of the cadet college, CM Murad Ali Shah said that the services rendered by the institution were admirable and former president Asif Ali Zardari had also received his education from this prestigious institute. He announced that the budget of Petaro Cadet College would be increased fromRs 50 million (m) rupees toRs 75m and it would be enhanced to Rs 100m by next year.

Earlier, Petaro Cadet College Principal Commodore Mehboob Illahi Malik spoke about the program and briefed the audience regarding the performance of the cadet college.

Cadets participated in March passed, PT, Chinese culture display, Karate and horse riding. PPP MPA Malik Asad Sikandar, Karachi Commander and chairman board of governors cadet college Petaro Amiral Asif Khaliq, Vice chancellor University of Sindh Prof Fateh Mohammad Burfat, Divisional commissioner Mohammad Abbas Baloch, DIGP Hyderaabad Nameed Shaikh, DC Jamshoro Captin retired Fareed u DDin Mustafa and SSP Jamshoro Tauqir Naeem attended the programme.
