
ISLAMABAD: The federal government on Tuesday has announced Rs50 million and jobs for the family of martyred SP Tahir Dawar.
State Minister for Interior Shahryar Afridi while speaking to a press conference said that as per the instruction of Prime Minister Imran Khan government has announced Rs50 million and jobs for the slain SP Tahir Dawar.
Inspector General Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was also present on the occasion.
Shahryar Afridi said that it was government and state’s responsibility to take care of the heirs of the martyred security personnel.
Earlier in November, SP Tahir Dawar, who went missing from Islamabad on October 26, was found dead in Nangarhar. Afghan government confirmed his martyrdom and handed over the body to Pakistan.
The states minister further stated that the Prime Minister has also directed formation of a five-member parliamentary committee to review progress in the investigation in the murder.
The committee would be comprised of three members from the treasury benches and two members would be from opposition, and from both houses.
SP Dawar’s brother thanked the government for the financial aid and welcomed investigation into the case.
