
After a tough start of the test match, New Zealand came up with a better plan on day 2 and executed that well. New Zealand scored a total of 274 which was a reasonable total. Pakistan bowling attack was impressive as usual. Bilal Asif took 5 wickets, Yasir Shah had 3 wickets under his name while Hassan Ali and Shaheen Shah Afridi had one wicket each.
Williamson was the stand out performer with his 89 runs. BJ Watling also showed some character and scored 77 not out. Apart from these two, no one fired against the strong Pakistan bowling attack.
In response the Pakistani openers had a shaky start when Hafeez got out for a duck and Imam-Ul-Haq also got out after scoring 9 runs. After that Azhar Ali and Haris Sohail stood out and put up a good partnership of 68 runs. Haris was caught behind and was sent back to the dressing room. He scored 34 runs.
At the end of the days play. Pakistan were 139 for the loss of 3 wickets. Azhar Ali is not out on 62 while Asad Shafiq is not out on 26 runs. Pakistan team needs to set up a big total if they want to win this test match. Day 3 will be the most crucial day in this test match.
