Prime Minister Imran Khan has sought input from the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) to make Pakistan a true welfare state in line with the theme of the State of Madina. A CII official told Daily Times that Religious Affairs Minister Noor-ul-Haq Qadri and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan visited the council and held detailed discussions over the matter. The government team requested the CII to guide it on getting out of the current financial and governance turmoil including fight against corruption and protection of the rights of minorities and women. The council will provide a comprehensive strategy paper to the government to help it turn the country into a welfare state.
