Firozabad police claimed that they arrested three members of a dacoit group operating from Afghanistan on Monday. Addressing a press conference at his office, District East’s Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ghulam Azfar Mahesar claimed that the Firozabad police conducted a raid and arrested three member of an Afghan dacoit group. The apprehended suspects were identified as Abdul Khaliq alias Haji son of Muhammad Abbas, Abdul Qayyum son of Muhammad Rahim, Daud khan alias Daud Pathan son of Muhamamd Shah. However, Mahesar said that four suspected gang members including Manan, Jumma, Ram Din and Chakardari managed to flee from the crime scene. SSP Mahesar said that the suspects belonged to an international criminal group and were involved in various criminal activities in the metropolis. He added that they were also involved in intimidating and threatening police personnel. He said that the suspects were arrested based on an intelligence tip-off from Afghanistan. Meanwhile, Sindh Rangers and police rounded up at least 36 suspects during joint search operations conducted in different areas of the metropolis on Monday. According to details, the two law enforcement agencies (LEAs) conducted raids in Quaidabad and Shah Latif Town and apprehended 11 suspects.
