PTI MPAs commit to help Waleed Iqbal, Seemi Ezdi win senate elections

LAHORE: Members of Provincial Assembly met with Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar and Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar ob Wednesday.

Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s (PTI) candidates for senate Waleed Iqbal and Seemi Ezdi were also present on the occasion. The MPAs reiterated their commitment to help the PTI candidates win senate elections.

Addressing the meeting, CM Sardar Usman Buzdar said that a working relationship is enjoyed by both governor and himself which was rare during the tenure of previous governments. “Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar is like my elder brother,” he added. The role of a governor, CM and the speaker is specified in the Constitution of Pakistan and we are fully united like a family. We will achieve the goal of a new Pakistan envisioned by Prime Minister Imran Khan by working like a team. He said that both Waleed Iqbal and Seemi Ezdi are lifelong lieutenants of the party. Both of the candidates will achieve success in the senate election by getting more votes than expected. I fully understand the problems faced by the southern Punjab and your genuine problems will be solved by the government, he added.

Muhammad Sarwar, on the occasion, said that this election is important for the party and MPAs will work by considering it as their own election. He said that there is not a minute difference between himself and the CM.

“We are on the same page and are working as a team of PM Imran Khan,” he said adding, “We already have worked jointly and will continue to perform collectively in future as well.”

He said that Buzdar was taking his Members of National Assembly and MPAs along and he is also working hard.

Separately, MPAs and different PTI leaders from Sargodha led by Provincial Labour Minister Ansar Majeed Niazi called on Buzdar.

On the occasion, a discussion was held with regard to solution of public problems and development schemes. Talking on the occasion, the CM said that PTI is a party of the people and his doors are always open.

“Solving your problems is my responsibility and I will visit Sargodha soon,” he added. The assembly members said that CM Office has been opened to the public by Buzdar who is always available to the people and the parliamentarians.

“We all are your team and meet you whenever required,” they added.

Separately, Buzdar presided over a high-level meeting at his office in which progress on development schemes was reviewed in detail.

Addressing the meeting, the CM said that PTI government is utilising all-out sources for public welfare and added that development schemes will be completed in a transparent manner.

“We believe in the composite development of the province and the fruits of development will be extended to deprived and far-flung areas as well,” he added.

“I belong to a most backward area and therefore, know the problems of such areas well,” he said. He directed that achieving of targets in different areas including provision of clean drinking water, healthcare, education, agriculture and industrial sector should be ensured. Secretaries and high officials of the relevant departments attended the meeting.

Separately, Buzdar has ordered to investigate the incident of the murder of a mother and her two daughters in Shadbagh area and has sought a report from the Capital City Police Officer Lahore.

He has directed that accused should be arrested soon and heirs should be provided justice as well.
