City police played a vital role on Thursday to save the life of an 11-year-old boy Abubakar from his kidnappers after killing one of them while two managed to escape. Iqbal Town Superintendent Police Syed Ali Shah, Gulshan Ravi Deputy Superintendent Police Muhammad Javed, Gulshan Ravi station house officer and police officials were part of the operation against the kidnappers. Iqbal Town SP Syed Ali Shah said that this kidnapping took place on Wednesday at 7:30pm in Gulshan Ravi at residence of a Hafiz Shahzad where his kidnappers came at the door step of the boy’s house in a getup of a postman and knocked at his door. Abubakar came out from the house when the kidnappers forcibly took him away for ransom at an unknown place. Iqbal Town SP says the kidnappers demanded Rs 1 crore from Abubakar’s father after which the family informed the police about the kidnapping incident. Upon being informed, SP said that a raiding team consisting of officials made a plan to recover and handover the 11-year-old boy to his family. They called up the kidnappers and told them to come and collect the money. The police planned to arrest them when they come to collect money and deputed several policemen inside as well as its surrounding areas.
