KARACHI: Office-bearers of Pakistan Veterinary Medical Association Sindh (PVMAS) have continued their protest and sit-in for fulfillment of their demands at Karachi Press Club on Tuesday. A large number of office- bearers including President of Pakistan Veterinary Medical Association Sindh (PVMAS), Dr. Mabarak Jatoi, Vive president Dr. Sabir Ali Shah, Jeneral Secretary Dr. Mukhtiar Noonari, Press secretary Dr. Akhtar Ali Abro,Finance Secretary Dr. Nabi Bakh Solangi and others were also among the protesters. Carrying banners and placards they chanted slogans for their rights and demanded the Chief Minister to take notice of their demands and resolve their issues. They said that the government should create seats for unemployed doctors and contract veterinary and veterinary officers working in various projects must be regularized. They have demanded that there is a need to adopt the policy of paid house jobs in Livestock Department and emphasized to implement the 4-tire formula which includes ratification of some posts and issuance of some posting orders of commissioned offers. They said that Live Stock minister must announce a service infrastructure for veterinary doctors and provide them facilities in a manner the veterinary doctors of Punjab are being given. They also demanded the concerned authorities to initiate skill development programs and renovate health centers for the welfare of Live Stock Department. Talking to Daily Times, Dr. Akhtar Abro told that they have approached the Live Stock minister to discuss their issues many times but he pays no heed to the issues; making lame-excuses and using delaying tactics. They said that we have started the movement from Monday and will extend it in every district of Sindh until and unless our demands are fulfilled.
