KARACHI: Four people have been reported killed, including three women and a student, while nine others got injured when an over speeding minibus overturned on University road near Bait-ul-Mukaram Mosque here on Thursday. Rescue officials informed that the speeding minibus, bearing registration number PE-4042, turned turtle near a bus stand at Bait-ul-Mukaram Mosque. Resulting in the deaths of four people, including a university student and three women, while nine others got injured. Sources have informed that two of the deceased had breathed their last on the spot while the rest of the two succumbed to their injuries at the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. The bus driver managed to flee the scene after the accident. Hospital sources said that condition of two of the injured is critical. The Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has expressed his deep sorrow over the loss of lives in the accident and directed the IG police to submit an inquiry report in this regard. He also ordered the arrest of the bus driver at the earliest. This is the second accident on the University Road during the current week. In the earlier incident, a minibus hit a girl, who is also a student of Karachi University. She is still in critical condition at a local hospital. Sources said that due to closure of CNG supply on Thursday, the public transport vehicles were overloaded in the city.
