ISLAMABAD: The Tayyaba torture case involving former additional district and sessions judge Raja Khurram Ali Khan and his spouse has finally seen its drop scene as the father of the minor housemaid has refused to follow the case against a judge. The court has granted pre-arrest bail to both the accused, the OSD made judge and his wife after the submission of an affidavit by the father of Tayyaba for withdrawing the case against the couple. Tayyaba’s father, Muhammad Azam submitted affidavits in the court wherein he stated that the judge and his wife were innocent and he did not want any case against them and that he will have no objection if the court accepts their bail or sets them free. Muhammad Azam also said that he had also registered an application with Industrial Area Police Station for the identification and detention of the real offenders who had subjected his daughter to torture. ADSJ Raja Asif Mehmood Khan resumed the hearing on the Tayyaba torture case on Friday with the accused couple and Tayyaba’s father present in the court. During the hearing, Tayyaba’s father stated when asked by the court that he was in full possession of his senses while giving the statement of withdrawing the case against the accused couple and that he took this step of his own accord without any pressure or coercion. ADSJ Raja Asif Mehmood, to eliminate any confusion, asked Tayyaba’s father to loudly read out the written compromise submitted by him, after that the ADSJ granted interim bail to both the accused, Raja Khurram Ali Khan and his wife Maheen Zafar against furnishing of surety bond of 30 thousand rupees each. After the hearing, President Islamabad Bar Association, Naveed Malik, who had also appeared before the court as the counsel of the accused OSD Raja Khurram and his spouse, said while talking to the media that the couple nominated in the torture case was innocent and the charges levelled against them are baseless.
