HYDERABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Central Information Secretary and member national assembly (MNA) Syeda Nafisa Shah, while addressing Meet the Press on Saturday, said that the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan would not be able build the Diamer Bhasha Dam from donations in the next five years. She also said that the governments should not run on donations but on sound economic policies. Shah further said that the PM did set up a cancer hospital from donations in the past which was commendable but to construct a dam from donations was nothing but impossible. She also criticized the government’s decision to ask the expats for donations to build the dams in the country by saying that the expats were not given the right to vote in the last elections but now the government was asking them for the donations. She also said that the PM Imran Khan failed to give any relief to the people during his last 20 days. “Imran wants to get help from the opposition on the economic issues but the opposition will not provide him help as Imran has to overcome this issue himself,” Shah said while adding that the opposition was waiting anxiously for his 100 days’ performance. She criticized the prime minister that he spoke to the nation on television twice but never addressed the parliament. She further said that the PM distanced himself from the war on terror and sacrifices of martyrs in his address on the Defence Day.“Imran Khan has not included any woman in his economic advisory committee and after taking another U-turn, he has removed the name of Mian Atif from the committee,” Shah said. Shah criticized the government’s decision to increase the gas prices by 45% by saying that it would increase inflation in the country.Nafeesa Shah also warned of tough resistance if the 18th amendment was touched by the government. On this occasion another PPP leader and former Senator Ajiz Dhamra was also present who criticized Imran Khan for not visiting the mausoleum of Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. “Perhaps Imran has in mind that Jinnah was the founder of old Pakistan but we want to tell him that Mr Jinnah was the founder and leader of Pakistan for all the times to come,” he concluded.
