Presidential election: Jahangir Tareen back in action

Published on: August 27, 2018 5:11 PM

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Khan Tareen has returned to the country to support party’s nominee for the post of president Arif Alvi.

Tareen had left for the UK after playing a vital role for his party in government formation at Centre and Punjab.

Tareen returned on the request of Alvi who will be contesting the presidential election scheduled to be held on September 4.

Need to visit all provincial capitals with our team as instructed by @ImranKhanPTI to meet our allies and voters and request for their votes. Have asked @JahangirKTareen who is in UK to join us. I think he šŸ˜Ž has had a good vacationšŸļøand now back to work šŸ›«

Arif Alvi’s position in the presidential election is strong as the opposition parties have failed to field a joint candidate for the post.

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has nominated Aitzaz Ahsan as its candidate for the presidential run.

Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) Chief Fazlur Rehman has submitted his nomination papers on behalf of other opposition parties including Pakistan Mulsim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
