
George Clooney has made it to the top of Forbes’ annual list of the world’s highest-paid actors for 2018.
Although he has not starred in a movie since 2016, the 57-year-old actor has topped the Forbes 2018 list with $239 million in pre-tax earnings. The rankings include on-screen and outside earnings.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson ranked second with $124 million pretax. Forbes says a huge social media following helped Johnson nearly double his 2017 earnings. In addition to his giant pay checks for films including ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle’, Johnson also has a cut of the profits.
Robert Downey Jr. was third on the list with $81 million credit goes to his estimated $15 million payday for his role in ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ and for ‘Avengers: Infinity War’.
Chris Hemsworth followed after Robert Downey with $64.5 million and Jackie Chan’s $45.5 million for his appearance in six films in 2017, as well as producer credits and endorsements.

Other actors on the list were Will Smith with , $42 million, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar with 7$40.5 million, Adam Sandler $39.5 million, another Bollywood star, Salman Khan with $38.5 million and Avengers/Captain America star Chris Evans with $34 million.
In total, world’s highest-paid actors gathered $748.5 million between June 1, 2017, and June 2018, before fees and taxes.
