The English Press may have a different opinion about it and despite the lack of signings, Manchester United seemed to have solved their main issue from the previous season -the strengthening of their midfield. With the addition of Fred, and Andreas Pereira returning from loan, Manchester United’s midfield is now versatile, and possesses players with flair as well as creative talents. Because of the added pace in the middle of the park, the transition from midfield to attack should be quicker, allowing Jose Mourinho to exploit his marquee counter-attacking methods. These tactics have been successful at other clubs that Mourinho has managed, and there’s no reason why it wouldn’t work at England’s most successful club. Although Manchester United performed in uninspiring fashion last season people seem to have forgotten they still finished runners-up. Lukaku, Pogba, De Gea and Sanchez are all world beaters who remain Manchester United players, and if utilized properly, together with the rest of their developing players, the team could challenge their rivals for the Premier League title. With a perfect mix of talented youngsters and World Class players, it seems Manchester United have assembled a squad with all the balance, ability and desire required to become champions of England once again.
