Indian MP Naramalli Sivaprasad attended a parliamentary session dressed up as Adolf Hitler in a protest against PM Narendra Modi over ‘broken promises’. “What I am doing will grab attention quickly. It will make people think,” Sivaprasad, a former actor and MP from Andhra Pradesh said while speaking to the media. Sivaprasad said that he was protesting to remind PM Modi of his unfulfilled promises. Regarding his costume, he said that he chose the controversial attire to send a message to Modi that he should not turn into Hitler. The MP has dressed as a mythological character, a Hindu god, a spiritual guru and a woman in the past. Social media users, however, criticised his choice of attire. “An elected MP attended parliament dressed as Hitler – the man who sent millions to their deaths in gas chambers and war. It only caused amusement. Any surprise then that hate is so normalised in India,” one Twitter user said.
