An alleged Mexican drug ‘boss’ was arrested in Mexico City despite going through a weight-loss surgery and a hair transplant to evade getting caught. The accused, known as ‘El Betito’, was said to be the head of Mexico City’s Tepito Union gang and was detained in the south west of the city, national security commissioner Renato Sales said. ‘El Betito’ lost around 30kg through gastric band surgery to reduce his stomach size and also underwent a hair transplant. He was detained along with his brother, while $8000 worth of drugs and arms were also recovered by the police. The gang is said to be involved in drug-dealing, kidnappings, extortion and arms-dealing.
