Writer, Anna Todd’s fan fiction ‘After’, on Watpadd that is based on the popular band, One Direction has become a huge success. The writer not only got a half a million dollar book deal, but is now getting her book adapted into a Hollywood movie.
The ‘After’ series about One Direction band as college students consists of four stories, which were published into books because it became immensely popular online and as of 2018 the books have sold over 15 million copies, at the same time as the original Wattpad versions of the story have been read over one billion times.
Anna’s story ‘After’ focuses on an 18 year old girl Tessa who is a college student with a simple and planned out life, excellent grades, and a sweet boyfriend. Her life changes when she meets a rude boy named Harry, with too many tattoos and piercings.
The character of Harry is based on One Direction star Harry Styles; however, in the published books his name was changed to Hardin to avoid complications.
In the film version of ‘After’, the character of Hardin is being essayed by Harry Potter actor Hero Fiennes Tiffin, while the role of Tessa will be played by actress Josephine Langford.
‘After’ has already begun filming and will and the original author Anna Todd will be producing it. Paramount Pictures will be responsible for releasing the film. The other actors in the cast include ‘Cruel Intentions’ and ‘Legally Blonde’ actor Selma Blair and ‘Do It Again’ singer Pia Mia.
There has not been an official release date set for the movie.
