
Former Pakistan captain Younis Khan has been appointed as the League Commissioner of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Champions League, marking another major addition to the tournament’s leadership. In his new role, he will oversee cricket operations, technical affairs, rules and regulations, tournament structure and ensure the competition meets high professional standards.

The appointment strengthens the league’s management as organisers continue preparations for its inaugural edition. Younis Khan will supervise the overall cricketing framework and help maintain fair competition by ensuring that all matches and operational matters follow established national and international standards.
Earlier, former Pakistan captain Shahid Khan Afridi was named the Brand Ambassador of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Champions League to promote the tournament. Organisers have also confirmed that several current and former Pakistan international cricketers will participate, adding greater appeal and competitiveness to the event.

Meanwhile, the league’s grand launch ceremony is scheduled for July 18 at 6:00pm at Imran Khan Cricket Stadium in Peshawar. During the event, organisers will unveil the official tournament schedule, announce upcoming activities, introduce a talent hunt programme and share several important developments related to the competition.
The ceremony is expected to attract senior government officials, business leaders, investors, media representatives and prominent figures from Pakistan cricket. In addition to the official announcements, guests will enjoy live performances by singer Aima Baig and renowned Pashto artist Rahim Shah, combining cricket, music and cultural entertainment in a single celebration.
