Imdad Pitafi’s blue-eyed boy running Sindh’s Works & Services Dept against SC orders

KARACHI: The blue-eyed boy of famed Sindh Minister for Works and Services Imdad Pitafi is running the affairs of the works and services department despite the fact that he belongs to another provincial department, Daily Times has learnt.

The overall department’s affairs starting from transfer and posting, awarding of contracts worth billions of rupees, influencing officials etc are done by a lower grade employee, who have been transferred from Agriculture Department and has been posted as Public Relations Officer to Works and Services Minister, sources disclosed.

According to sources, Abdul Qadir Pitafi is an employee of BS-16 of Engineering Wing of the Agriculture Department of the Sindh government and was posted in Board of Revenue for couple of months and then he was repatriated to his parent department following orders of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

However, after Imdad Pitafi was inducted into the Sindh Cabinet in July 2016, Abdul Qadir Pitafi was once again transferred and posted in Works and Services Department as PRO to the minister, sources added.

The sources have alleged that the Abdul Qadir Pitafi is also been involved in awarding contracts to the contractors, adding that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has reportedly received many complaints against him.

When contacted, Abdul Qadir Pitafi refused to give his version and disconnected the phone.
