Hussain Nawaz, the son of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has said that his father has been denied of his basic rights in jail.
“I am told that my father was not given a bed to sleep on and the bathroom was extremely dirty probably not cleaned for ages. There is no precedence of treating people’s representatives with dignity in this country but these are basic rights withdrawal of which constitutes torture,” he said in a Tweet.

Lately, mother of Nawaz Sharif Begum Shamim along with his other son, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shahbaz Sharif, and her grandson Hamza Shehbaz visited the former premier and Maryam in Adiala Jail.
The father-daughter duo was arrested on their arrival at Lahore airport on Friday, from where they were immediately shifted to Adiala.
Nawaz is allotted ‘B’ class category, while Maryam declined privileges in jail. Maryam was shifted to the women’s cell. She declined to request for the provision of ‘B’ class.
As per jail manual ‘B’ class includes facilities such as television, newspapers, bed, attach-bathroom, fan and a servant in the ‘B’ class category.
Captain (r) Safdar Awan, Maryam’s spouse and her appeal against the verdict in the Avenfield reference case will be filed on July 16.
Earlier, Maryam, Nawaz and Safdar were sentenced 8, 11, and 1 year respectively, by the accountability court.
