Public will decide PML-N’s fate on Election day: Shahid Khaqan Abbasi

Published on: July 5, 2018 1:18 PM

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Thursday said that PML-N will contest elections with their fate in the hands of the public.

Abbasi while talking to the media outside Lahore High Court (LHC) said that the party leadership was conducting a powerful election campaign.

Former premier, after hearing LHC’s verdict dismissing appellate tribunal’s lifetime disqualification verdict against Abbasi, said that PML-N will be victorious with a significant majority in the upcoming general elections if God wills.

Abbasi added that the decision was for the public to make, adding that PML-N will be contesting the elections.

PML-N leader said that “we pray that a transparent election is held in Pakistan”, while referring to the hatching conspiracies pertaining to elections.

Referring to Nawaz’s return, Abbasi said that PML-N Quaid will return once Begum Kulsoom’s condition gets better.

Earlier on Wednesday, Nawaz Sharif had pled a delay from accountability court for Avenfield reference case’s verdict that is to be given on July 6.

PML-N Quaid had stated that he wanted to be present in court at the time of the verdict’s announcement for which he had appeared before the court with his daughter for more than 100 times.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan, referring to Sharif’s delay request, remarked on Wednesday that no delay should be allowed as the law has no exceptions and cannot be changed for anyone.
