Imran sends out message on Twitter, hints people to vote or fall for anything

Published on: July 3, 2018 3:55 PM

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Tuesday left a message on twitter for those intending not to vote in the upcoming elections.

Khan in his tweet posted Malcolm X’s quote, “A man who stands for nothing will fall for anything” as a message for those intending not to cast their votes this election.

"A man who stands for nothing will fall for anything" – Malcolm X. This is for all those Pakistanis who are intending not to vote in the coming historical elections on the 25 of July.

— Imran Khan (@ImranKhanPTI) July 3, 2018

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz later commented over Khan’s tweet message, questioning what whether Kaptaan stood for “Khalayi Makhlooq”? “Sponsored Dharnas” or “Umpire ki Ungli”?

What do you stand for? Khalayi Makhlooq? Conspiracies? Umpire ki ungli? Sadiq Sanjrani? Dictations? Sponsored Dharnas? Sponsored politics ? https://t.co/7440lJEPcs

Earlier on Monday, while addressing a press conference in Sargodha, Khan had said that July 25 elections will change Pakistan’s fate.

PTI chief during his address had asserted that political status quo was a powerful thing yet at times can become an obstacle in bringing change.

According to a report by Free and Fair Election Network (FFEN), the total voter turn-out in 3013 general elections was recorded as 53 percent.

The network claimed that the turn-out in 2013 had increased by 12% compared to the 25 year average 41% overall voter turn-out.
