RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan’s friend Zulfi Bukhari on Monday was interrogated by National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) investigative team.
NAB had summoned Zulfi Bukhari at the bureau in Rawalpindi for the first time in an ongoing probe against offshore companies.
The London-based businessman was under interrogation for nearly 1 and a half hours.
During the interrogation session Bukhari, along with counsel presented details pertaining to his offshore companies.
Khan’s close aide, while speaking to the media outside the bureau said that the investigation was at an initial stage and will continue for a while.
He added that the bureau has summoned him again on July 27.
Irked by questions referring to his name on Exit Control List (ECL) Bukhari reiterated that his name was not on the list.

Earlier on June 21, Islamabad High Court (IHC) had directed Zulfi Bukhari to join NAB’s probe into his offshore companies while hearing petition of his names removal from the blacklist.

Bukhari, despite being summoned to the bureau, failed to appear, to which Bukhari argued that as a British-National NAB lacked the jurisdiction to probe into him.
Khan’s friend while talking to the media outside IHC said that he had only one passport and had traveled on that. He added that no reason had been given for placing my name on the blacklist.
