DADU: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on Thursday celebrated 65th birthday of former Prime Minister of Pakistan Benazir Bhutto during various ceremonies organised at Mehar, KN Shah, Johi and Sehwan cities of Sindh province. Reportedly, the PPP leader and former minister of law Pir Mazhar Ul Haq cut her birthday cake during a main programme that was held at a local hotel in Dadu. “Benazir Bhutto was a great leader and a bright star that continues to glow in the hearts of the people of Pakistan,” he said while praising her remarkable services for the country, particularly peace and democracy. A large number of PPP activists gathered on the occasion to honour her, who spent her entire life fighting against dictatorship and among many democracies of the world stands out as an unequivocal symbol of democracy. Meanwhile, during a programme held in Sehwan, former Sindh chief minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said that Benazir Bhutto sacrificed her life for the poverty-stricken people of Pakistan, and to secure their fundamental rights.
