NAUDERO: The Ratodero civil judge-cum-judicial magistrate (CJ) Ahmed Ali Gabol on Saturday paid a surprise visit to the Rural Health Center (RHC) for inspection. Reportedly, the female patients informed CJ about ‘bad’ attitude of Dr Hamid Nawaz Shaikh who deals the ultrasound department. He also observed that many officers were absent without obtaining prior leaves. Later, he examined outpatient department (OPD) where he was told by the patients that X-Ray facility has been unavailable. He also observed that Dr Muhammad Ali, Dr Saeed Kazi, Dr Sunny and Chuttal Soomro were not performing their duties appropriately and ‘absconding’. He directed the medical superintendent (MS) Dr Imdad Ghanghro to send a report about absent staff to the higher authorities along with a copy to him so that a stern action could be initiated against them under the service rules. The judge also expressed anger when he found security guard of the hospital roaming inside of the building. He directed Integrated Health Services (IHS) authorities to remove the guard immediately and appoint another guard as IHS has been authorised to look after the management. He also found a lot of rickshaws, bikes and cars parked at the main entrance of the hospital blocking the incoming route of the patients. The CJ immediately called Naudero station house officer (SHO) Ghulam Abbas Shar and directed him to ensure that no vehicle is parked at front of the RHC. While visiting the TB lab, he found heaps of garbage and expressed dissatisfaction over maintenance of cleanliness that is essential in the laboratories. MS Dr Ghanghro informed him that blood samples of suspected hepatitis patients were collected and sent to Hyderabad for PCR tests that delays the results. Dr Ghanghro further revealed that only two ambulances were functional reserved for only influential people while other two were inoperative. Published in Daily Times, May 20th 2018.
