In a not so shocking revelation, a Muslim model has claimed that she was dropped out of a beauty campaign “just because she wears a hijab,” as reported by Daily Mail.
Mariah Idrissi revealed that she lost the job because one of the outlets that was involved thought she would “limit the audience because she’s a Muslim”.

The model rose to fame back in 2015 after she became the first hijab-wearing woman to star in an H&M campaign.
She explained in an interview, “It was nothing to do with my personality, and just because I wore a hijab they thought their audience wouldn’t buy the product.”
“For me, it was like well I buy things that white girls are wearing, it makes no difference, so I was a bit shocked,” she added.
Once a lady messaged Idrissi saying, she was from a small village in France, and in that area, they didn’t hire girls in hijabs to work in their retail stores. However, once people saw her H&M campaign, they protested outside shops demanding that they are hired, and it worked well to bring about a change.
Following her H&M campaign, the model has made an appearance in a range of magazines including the likes of Elle, Marie Claire, and Teen Vogue.
On the other hand, though, it was reported earlier that a hijab-clad woman is all set to become the first hijab-wearing Muslim to be competing in Miss England.
Maria Mehmood has made her way into the semi-finals and is hopeful to reach further ahead in the competition. If she wins the prestigious pageant, Maria will go on to compete in Miss World, according to Daily Mail.

In another heartbreaking incident, a hospital surveillance video from February showed a woman wearing a hijab and walking into the emergency room at a hospital in Michigan, United States, seeking help.
She was seen falling on ice, and within seconds, a man approached from behind
