JACOBABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activists on Wednesday observed the Labour Day and lit up candles with blood at the front of deputy commissioner office (DCO).
They paid great homage to the martyred labourers of Chicago, who sacrificed their lives during a struggle of fundamental rights in 1886.
“Labourers are the friends of God, who are facing severe financial and social hardships all over the world,” Raaz Khan Pathan said, a senior PTI leader added that labourers could not afford quality education, health facilities, hygienic food and even clean drinking water. The activists demanded the government of Pakistan to fix Rs 15000 as a minimum salary of labourers.
They urged the government to devise a policy of free education for the children of the labourers so they are not deprived of their fundamental right. He vowed that after winning the upcoming general elections, PTI would resolve the core issues of labourers without any discrimination.
A large number of activists gave their blood to light up the candles, as an honour to the martyred of Chicago.
