KARACHI: Family Members and relatives hailing from the Qalandarabad, Gulistan Jauhar staged a protest and sit-in with the body of the deceased against the unjust encounter by the police outside Karachi Press Club on Monday. The relatives of the deceased staged a massive protest against police by placing his dead body in the middle of the road chanting slogans against the SHO, Gulshan e Maymar Mir Muhammad Lashari who they claimed has killed their beloved in a fake-encounter. Taj Muhammad, the father of the Ali Akbar who was injured by the firing of police told that the incident took place on Thursday at 10 p.m as four men namely, Ashraf, Akbar, Muhammad Shafee and Taj Muhammad were coming from the shrine of Kareem Shah located in Qalandarabad, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, where hundreds of people visit to possess internal peace. Police personnel en route asked for their License and other documents of the motor bikes which they failed to produce since they were at home. The Police asked us to bring the documents and Rs 2000 from home. Taj Muhammad informed that when we returned with the documents and found no one there, we went to the Gulshane e Mamar Police station in order to inquire about our children, they told us that your children have been shot in an encounter and one of them has died. “I broke down”, he busted into tears. They have approached police station many times to lodge an First Investigation Report (FIR) against the SHO, but the police is threatening to shoot us also in the same way in which have killed our beloved. The family claims that SHO, Mir Muhammad Lashari has killed their loved one in a fake encounter and the personnel responsible for the incident should be arrested and punished. Deceased boy was a resident of Qalandarabad, Gulstan-e- Jauhar who works in Dubai and had come from there on the funeral prayer of his deceased father four month ago. SHO Mamar, Mir Muhammad Lashari, turning down all allegations said that he was not present at the spot where the incident took place. Some police personnel of our Station on a routine patrol asked them to stop but the suspects in an attempt to escape restored to indiscriminate firing , the police responded and one of the suspects died while the other was injured. The police claims to have the criminal record of Ashraf, involved in various robberies in Gulstan-e-Jauhar and Site Super Highway, killed in an alleged encounter with the police.
